The Sportswear International Fashion Awards, (SIFAs) were created in 2000 to honor brands and collections for excellence in design, brand strength, vision and saleability. The number of twelve award categories was later reduced to six: Best Fashion, Best Denim, Best Sport/Street, Best Sneakers, Best Footwear and Best Newcomer plus three Editors' Choice SIFAs for outstanding industry achievement, brick-and-mortar retailing and e-commerce. SI's editors nominate the best talent in those categories and readers select the final nominees. From there, a jury of internationally known retailers chooses the winners.
