The Pop Up Flea comes to London
The first London edition of New York-based pop-up shop The Pop Up Flea has just closed its doors. Located in Piccadilly, the heart of the West End, The Pop Up Flea brings together an eclectic mix of high-end new, heritage and vintage menswear and lifestyle accessories with a shared passion for details. The Pop Up Flea ran October 11-13.
Established in 2009, The Pop Up Flea is a traveling one-stop-shop for all of your premium menswear requirements. Founders Michael and Randy don’t mess around: “Invitations are sent only to brands that meet our proprietary algorithmic formula conceived to mathematically deduce handsomeness level. It's all very scientific.” The result being a well curated selection of excellent brands.
Filson showed a pared down selection of its F/W collection which includes chore shirts, oil tin cloth jackets and hunting mackinaws, all of which have received slimmer, modern cuts, whilst retaining the high standards of quality for which they are renowned. The Vintage Showroom, gearing up for the launch of its second publication, was showing a great selection of WW2 American military gear, unique vintage work-wear, and Belstaff jackets, with whom the store is collaborating. Tellason, Made in San Francisco denim purists, presented its F/W selection which includes 6 different cuts of jeans, 5 for men, 1 for women, which are available in mid to heavy weights and in one colour: indigo.
Other stalls of note were Red Wing Heritage, who are opening a London store soon; Shinola, Filson’s sister company who make bicycles and watches; and North Sea Clothing, who, among other things, make excellent reproductions of vintage naval jumpers. Other exhibitors are; Aether, Anthem, Bread Collective, Field Notes, General Knot & Co., Levi's Made & Crafted, Levi's Vintage Clothing, London Undercover, Man Of The World, Marwood, Tanner Goods, Tellason, The Good Flock, and Todd Snyder.
