05 Sep. 2011

The 31st edition of Munich Fabric Start will open its doors tomorrow (Sep. 6-8, 2011) 2011, with the trend teaser ‘Detailoring’ and will show fashion trends for fall/winter 2012/13. With over 800 registered exhibitors from 36 countries, Munich Fabric Start with its trade fair segments Collections, Blue Zone, Additionals and Asia Salon sets a new record in terms of exhibitor numbers. Due to the rising demand, the second floor of the M,O,C, now is also occupied and thus the exhibition center fully booked. In the four halls of the M,O,C, the Atriums and Studios as well as in the Blue Zone in hall 5 over 1,300 collections will present the new innovations in textile design.

Amongst new initiatives, there is for instance the new profile of Blue Zone bringing together the international denim elite from Sep. 6-7 in hall 5. Under the heading ‘Superstudios’, the focus here is on pure and simple denim. Another new development is the implementation of the ‘green’ service sections of the fair. The ECO Village is moving downstairs and now is located directly across from the organicselection forum in the foyer of hall 4.  For the first time, the denims are also fully integrated, with the development of the ‘Greenzone’, their corresponding forum in the Blue Zone. Moreover, a specially defined area called ‘Asia Accessories’ will be included in the Asia Salon featuring six selected exhibitors.

65 new exhibitors will participate in the trade fair, these include Italian companies like Tessitura di Robecchetto Candiani (denim), Turkey’s cotton specialists Larma Tekstil, or denim specialists Realteks who are part of the R Group.
