Christopher Ræburn becomes new art director for VictorinoxFrom the beginning of this year, British fashion designer Christopher Ræburn will be the new art director for Swiss brand Victorinox. Besides the performance of his duty for Victorinox, he will still work for his own Label based in London.
Ræburn, who graduated from London Royal College of Art in 2006, is known for creating ethically-aware men’s and womenswear collections that are original in design. Utilising re-appropriated military fabrics, Ræburn creates garments that are functional, intelligent and meticulously crafted. Produced in a little factory in East London his pieces are labelled "Remade in England" and are sold all over the world for examples at Barneys, Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Colette and United Arrows. As the first designer he obtained the NEWGEN-Award.
In 2009 the designer created already a capsule collection "Remade in Switzerland" for Victorinox followed by a second one called Protect capsule collection. Ræburn commented: "I am really proud of the collaboration with Victorinox and the Protect collection. It was a great honour to work with such a reputable company and I am happy to put my knowledge and aesthetic inputs in a main collection now."
