Winner collections of the Premium Young Designers Award

WINNERS OF PREMIUM YOUNG DESIGNERS AWARD ANNOUNCEDIn order to kick off Berlin Fashion Week, Premium tradeshow organized a press event at its F95 fashion store on Jan. 17 where the winners of the Premium Designers Award f/w 2011/12 were announced. German label Liebig won in the category womenswear; the award in the category menswear went to German/Italian label Sleep is Commercial, and last but not least, Australian label Maripossa was chosen in the category accessories.
Each season, three winners are selected out of a pool over 50 applications in the three categories womenswear, menswear and accessories. Each of the winners gets a booth on the next Premium edition, can exhibit their collections at the F95 fashion store, and is included in Premium’s overall communication. Sponsor partner Nanai provides the winners with a high-class and sustainable leather for the production of the collections. The prize is equivalent to an amount of € 20,000.
Since 2005, Anita and Norbert Tillmann are getting involved in the promotion of young designers. “We are proud that the award ‘Premium Young Designer’ has become a seal of quality as well as an important career boost for promising young talents,” comments Anita Tillmann. Amongst previous winners of the Premium Young Designers Award are for example Pauric Sweeney, Arrondissement Aq1, Mongrels in Common, or Frida Weyer.
