Mess Around // Who’s Next Prêt-à-Porter Paris, January 2012
10 Apr. 2012
WHO’S NEXT REVEALS SET-UP ADAPTIONThe first edition of Who’s Next Prêt-à-Porter Paris welcomed 65,682 visitors last January, laying the foundations of a "new" trade show. The next edition of the show presenting the key trends of spring/summer 2013 is now coming up for June 30 - July 3 in Paris. For more consistency and to help buyers find their way on the premises, the general layout was reorganized.
The main changes will mostly affect Mr.Brown, with the area moving to Hall 7, but also the global accessory offer: Premiere Classe, Mess Around and Le Cube. So as to meet the expectations of the buyers, the organizers have announced that those three areas will be gathered and reorganized in Hall 3. It’s not about dividing up an accessory offer, which until now had always proved very positive but about reorganizing, in one shared Hall, 900 brands according to the product typology and specific retail networks.
The designer womenswear brands will be gathered in Hall 4, with at the very heart of the Hall, Fame Atelier, presenting 15 designers reflecting the current market trends and featuring unusual and original products.
Just as in January, the contemporary and well-established womenswear brands will be dispatched up in Halls 7.1 and 7.2. Hall 7.1 will also feature a selection of evening wear, June being the peak season for eveningwear sales.
Urban- and menswear are climbing high and taking over Hall 7.3, an area filled with light thanks to several decks and an amazing view of Paris. To be in line with the trade show’s festive spirit, widely praised during the first edition in January, Mr.Brown will host the Who’s Next catwalk show at the very heart of the Hall.
With the summer season on its way, the main outside aisle of the Porte de Versailles will feature a host of events at the very heart of the Parc des Expositions. The trade show will beat to the rhythm of this area during the day and at night, 50 meters above, the Hall 7 terrace, will host the legendary Who’s Next Happy Hours. The Orion moving walkway will remain open for an easier and faster access to the Parc and Hall 7.3.
Defending new creation since the beginning, Who’s Next has always promoted young French and international designers each season, providing them with special discount rates to exhibit at the trade show and specific communications means.
The Fresh area, launched in 2006, will be revived in June and gather, at the entrance of the Fame area, 25 young labels featuring conceptual and avant-garde designers as well as fashion school students, including 10 winners selected via the artsthread.com web-based platform.
The 16 new winners of the young fashion designer contest organized by Whosnextblog.com, as well as four favorite brands selected last January will be invited to exhibit their collections in various areas matching their universe: menswear in Mr.Brown - womenswear in Private - accessories at Premiere Classe - shoes at Mess Around.
