WHO’S NEXT AND PREMIÈRE CLASSE RISES ATTENDANCEThe last edition of French trade fairs Who’s Next and Première Classe which ended Jan. 26 registered a +17% rise in attendance compared to the Jan. 2009 edition. With nearly 50,000 visitors (49,460) this session of both Parisian trade shows achieved a record attendance. 17,974 foreign buyers visited the fairs which counts up to a 30.6% increase compared to last year’s edition. But also the number of French buyers grew. With 31,486 visitors there was a 10.6% rise compared to last January.
According to show organizers retailers were in a good mood and placed orders with no restraints; they even favored impulse buys which they had avoided the past seasons. Also the first edition of Petit Who’s Next which is devoted to kids’ fashion, proved very promising. “This creation area can only grow and it will be further developed next September thanks to increased efforts in terms of communications and identity”, Sophie Guyot, Who’s Next’s manager, said. The next edition of Who’s Next will take place at Porte de Versailles in Paris between Sept. 4 to Sept. 7, 2010.
