Vans teams up With MetallicaFrom February 2013, Vans and Metallica have launched a new collaboration. The new project will consist of a four piece signature collection, with each piece of the special collection being designed by a different member of the iconic band.
The new sneakers' release is accompanied by a video that captures the unique shared passion and spirit of the band. The video details the history of band, as well the inspirations behind the shoe models. Some elements that characterize the shoes include; guitar picks; printed skulls; and the diamond plate pattern that is a recurrent motif on the band members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo’s instruments. The shoes will also feature elements of their favourite Vans team riders.
In March, Vans and Metallica will introduce the Kill ’Em All theme shoes featuring two of Vans’ all-time favourite styles; the Classic Slip-On; and the Sk8-Hi, each style will be emblazoned with artwork marking the 30 year anniversary since the release of Metallica’s debut album.
