Van Bommel Make-overSituated in the 1950’s neighbourhood of Moergestel, a village with a population of 6000, with 1700 square meters office space, 1750 square meters manufacturing space and 3600 square meters storage – this is the new Van Bommel Headquarter in figures.
Van Bommel opened completely rebuilt Headquarter
The shoe factory and headquarters of the 9th generation company was completely rebuilt and now appears in a new façade in a 1950’s style, with Dutch charm as far as the eye can see. The new design, for which the three Bommel brothers are responsible, combines modern and traditional elements. For instance industrial elements such as floor coverings have been preserved and integrated into the new design. Highlights are the 12 meter long wooden installation with historic black-and-white photographs, a collection of historic books regarding shoes, instruction books, reference books, photographs and documents as well as a 30 meters long family tree painted by Creature Designer Kevin Bannister. Besides manufacturing and storage, the new headquarter is also home to design, office, and representation areas as well as a new company museum and a company cinema. In addition there is a visitor’s tour at the moment. In 2013 the factory, where 35% of the shoes are produced, will be open to the public.
