GUILD

Dates: T-Th, Feb. 17-19

Location: Palms Place Hotel & Spa

Reason for going: Founded by George Esquivel, Dana Robinson and Jason Fischer, Guild was last season’s best-kept secret. This sophomore show of almost 40 brands rivals (capsule) in terms of its cachet, with exhibitors including Philip Sparks, Wings + Horns, Reigning Champ, Native Son, Gitman, Feiyue, Orthodox, Warriors of Radness, &Park, Ludwig, Huffer, The Cast, Elc, Timo and Sperry Topsider featuring Band of Outsiders. “We had a bunch of friends with really great lines that were in the same ‘anti-trade show’ position and were scattered all over town in suites. It was just too hard for buyers to get everywhere to see everyone, so through a friend at The Palms we came up with the idea for Guild,” says Fischer. “We were the first ones to start at noon and run into the evening. This time we’ll be working up to 9 pm. Buyers loved that they could hit the other shows earlier in the day and then come over for some drinks and get more buying done. And since we’re in Vegas and staying up late, who wants to get up early to be to a show by 9 am?”

Official Party: TBC. Rumored to be at either The Palms or The Palms Place.

PROJECT

Dates: W-F, Feb. 18-20

Location: Mandalay Bay

Reason for going: Project is still the most comprehensive showcase of premium contemporary and denim brands, with many of the segment’s leading (read viable) brands still exhibiting here. There’s a slew of upcoming brands here, however, so the show’s still every bit a must-see. Aether, Apolis Activism, Blue Notch, Civil Smith, Current Elliot, Creative Recreation, Fiber and Fellow, Filippa K, Fjallraven, Grenson, G-Star, JW Brine, James Perse, Kova & T, Nobody, Operations, Relwen, Simon Miller, Spindle & Canister, Steven Alan, Swims, Vael and Vince – they’re all here.

Official Party: LAVO at The Palazzo, Feb. 18, from 10 pm.
