Trends f/w 2014/15: Keypieces

Which products will hit the stores in F/W 2014/15? What will be the keypieces next winter? We asked the industry and designers about their favourite pieces for the next winter season. Here are the answers:

Josy Liebetrau, Arquenautas:
"New two-layered wind and water proof jackets for women and men. Knit in different shapes and structure mixes as well as brushed sweatwear, twill tops and bleached out surfaces."

Designteam, Bench:
"The hoody is a standout piece for both the men’s & women’s collection in Autumn/Winter 2014. Featuring functional attributes including adjustable woven hood peaks for added protection from the elements, coated zips with chin-guards and anatomic fits with articulated sleeves and shaped back hems."

Nina Bogstedt, Filippa K:
"For woman a long, soft slightly oversize wool coat. For man a modern take on the grey melange flannel suit."

Kristen Strickler, Forever 21:
"This year, the Forever 21 collection is highlighted by cozy cable-knit sweaters, sheer boleros, faux-fur gilets, lace bodice dresses and gold-threaded jacquard bottoms. We also have winter staples including wool coats in numerous styles – from hooded bombers to single and double-breasted peacoats. The collection is mixed with saturated hues and cool metallics, helping to make these pieces pop in any look."

Andrea Pensiero, Franklin & Marshall: "On our key pieces, we use mesh photography all over prints. These prints reproduce a wool texture on the jersey. It is a new technique to finish garments."

Virginie Mangano, La Fée Maraboutée:
"For La Fée Maraboutée brand, the key piece remains and always will be the dress. The long skirts are very important for the season winter 14, pleated skirts or skirts gathered at the waist. For the winter, of course the coats are key-pieces but especially this season we do several kind of coats: knitted long coats, loop stitch effect coats, coats for a pared-down silhouette, faux-fur coats, with faux panther or leopard fur. The pullover and sweaters are key pieces of the season; sweaters with prints, and pullovers in fine and heavy gauges."

Michele Malenotti, Matchless London:
"Developments in leather will be very important and some custom jackets inspired by the 50s style including Marlon Brando will be presented. The classic and heritage part of the collection will feature new details and new fur."
