SWEDISH FASHION GOES BERLINIn the course of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin, the Swedish fashion scene will present itself with a fashion show, an exhibition and a lecture in Berlin.
The kick-off will take place on Jan. 20, 2011, with “Fashion! Fashion photography by Camilla Akrans” at the Gallery Swedish Photography in Berlin-Mitte. Akrans works for magazines like Vogue or Harpers Bazaar and photographed top models like Kate Moss and Claudia Schiffer. The exhibition will be curated by Michelle Roy, curator for photography of the museum Fotografiska in Stockholm. Both the artist and the curator will be present at the vernissage.
At the same time, there will be the ‘Fashion Film Festival’ in the garden of the gallery. Screenings of three to twenty minutes will show the work by Ann-Sofie Back, Fashion Tale Magazin, Nakkna and others.

On Jan. 21, Ph.D. students Ulrika Berglund and Jacob Östberg from the renowned ‘Center for Fashion Studies’ will hold a fashion lecture at the Swedish embassy in Berlin from 10am to 12pm.
Last but not least, a group fashion show by Swedish designers Camilla Norrback, Diana Orving and Ida Sjöstedt in the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week tent at Berlin’s Bebelplatz will complete the Swedish fashion scene’s presence in Berlin.
