STOCKHOLM FASHION WEEK WIDENS OFFERINGSStockholm Fashion Week, Feb. 15-21, focused this season on Swedish and international fashion. Functioning as the cornerstones of the event, five separate trade fairs collectively covered various segments of the industry, with Boutique Fräsh the chosen destination for industry folks moving in streetwear circles. New brands that made their Boutique Fräsh debut this season included Bench, Dokument Förlag, Fenchurch, Frank Dandy and Kangol.
Being an integral part of every SFW event, the young designer initiative Rookies presented the fall collections of 12 new talents, five of which have been nominated for the annually organized Rookie of the Year Award. The nominees for this year’s award are Billy and I, Ida Pyk, Ranhnsäter, Seika Lee and the White Briefs, and the winner will be announced at the Rookies of the Year Award taking place during the next edition of SFW in August 2010.
Another highlight of the week was Aplace Showroom’s presentation which showcased collections by labels such as Amongst Friends, Wings & Horns, Libertine Libertine, HUF, Obey, Norse Projects, Daves Quality Meat, Alife, Clae, Penfield, Sixpack France, Generic Surplus, Gourmet, Soulland, YMC, Pendleton and Red Wing.
