SHOW REPORT: GOODBYE CPD - WELCOME GALLERY

The final Düsseldorf CPD Signatures, which took place from February 4 through 6, ended on Monday. 12,300 trade visitors used the event to place orders with 408 exhibitors. Despite difficult market conditions, CPD has served as a fashion center in Düsseldorf for a long time; this year’s fair marks the end of a 30-year era.

Times have changed. Fashion fairs see Berlin as the kick-off point, but Düsseldorf is still the business center for showrooms and orders. Now that CDP has ended, the Igedo Company will start with a new order concept this summer, known as “The Gallery.” About 500 guests were given a sneak peak at “The Move” party held on Saturday evening at the Areal Böhler. Idego’s executive director of fashion Mirjam Dietz and managing director Philipp Kronen were pleased with the debut.

From July 21-23rd, 2012, The Gallery Düsseldorf will function for the first time as a show at Böhlerwerke in Duesseldorf-Oberkassel. The exhibition space will cover 12,500 sqm of newly renovated industry halls featuring designer and avant-garde accessory collections as well as contemporary fashion collections. Dietz explained, “With this event we offer an appealing temporary platform serving as a compliment to the showrooms.”
