The new EA7 | Reebok Footwear Collection
21 Feb. 2011
REEBOK X EMPORIO ARMANIFor s/s 2011, Giorgio Armani S.p.A. and Reebok International Ltd. have collaborated in a collection that presents an evolution of the fusion of Reebok’s fitness and training technologies, and Emporio Armani’s fashion, DNA and glamour.
The new collection evolves EA7’s dynamism and sporty visual lines, whilst incorporating Reebok’s performance technologies across footwear and apparel with projecting style and design on the one hand, and optimized performance and fit on the other.
The highlight of the collection is the debut of the first edition ever of the EA7 | Reebok ZigTech, Reebok’s most technically advanced running and training shoe to date, interpreted by one of the world’s leading fashion designers.
The new EA7 | Reebok Footwear Collection offers three athletic footwear styles all of which incorporate ZigTech technology and designed to conserve and return energy to the wearer for a soft and springy ride. The one-of-a-kind ZigTech sole features innovative, lightweight foam that is engineered into a geometric, zig-zag shape. This uniquely shaped sole absorbs the impact of heel strike and sends a wave of energy along the length of the shoe, propelling the athlete forward with each step. The collection is available in three athletic footwear styles: two unisex styles, the EA7 ZigPump and EA7 ZigLace, - and for women only -, the EA7 ZigTech Nano.
The Reebok | EA7 apparel collection references the textured skin and disruptive coloration of the Great Sting Ray with stylish graphical applications and an outstanding color range. Key pieces in the men’s collection include the sleeveless fitness hoody with an elongated front zipper, oversized hood and kangaroo pockets. The feather lightweight duffer jacket features an ultra-flat-packed concealed hood, enabling transformation into travel pouch form. Stylish, fitted running Razza tech-tops, running shorts and athletic running tights complete the collection.
For women, the color range includes clever blue, dawn grey, black and white, infused with Persian pink as the seasonal color pop. Stand-out pieces include the long gaucho in translucent knit fabric, zippered ankles and a silhouette which is gathered at the hem to allow drape and volume. It is complimented by the hooded jacket in a soft stretch tricot knit mixed with woven inserts, and a functional two-way zipper and a form fitted slim hood. Layered combinations of lightweight leggings and shorts provide a fashionable twist to the collection’s functional benefits.
