Le Coq Sportif Outfits L’Eroica

The L'Eroica 2012 bicycle-touring race, which recently took place in Tuscany, Italy on the hills of Chianti, registered quite a significant success this year with the participation of over 4,000 amateur riders as well as four teams of professional athletes from Italy, France, England and Spain.

All team members wore the L’Eroica Retro-Cycling collection by French active- and sportswear manufacturer Le Coq Sportif, which has also served as main sponsor for the event since 2010. The brand’s capsule collection is available on their website and in specialized stores and is characterized by color blocking in L'Eroica's traditional bordeaux as well as sky and marine blue, cream white and botanic green. The range offers tops and accessories inspired by authentic cycling gear and apparel worn by cyclists in the 1960s.

The decade was a fitting inspiration, as Giancarlo Brocci, president and organizer of the race since its first edition in 1997, commented: “L'Eroica is the Woodstock of bicycle racing because of its spirit and philosophy and because it is a marathon with no winners or competitors.” Since its start, the race has welcomed enthusiastic and tireless riders of all ages and persuasions to join in regardless of ability, with four tracks provided that range from 38-200 km.
