J.Crew said to open lower-priced retail chain
According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, US-American fashion brand J.Crew is planning to open a more affordable retail format called J.Crew Mercantile.
Apparently, the company has already registered the trademark J.Crew Mercantile in November 2013, covering products such as bags, accessories, footwear, jewelry and apparel. It has not been confirmed by the corporation whether the Mercantile name will be used for a new retail chain, but rumor has it.
J.Crew opened its first store in New York in 1989. Currently, the company runs numerous stores across the US and Canada (since 2011) plus three stores in London, UK.
