JAM COLOGNE SEES SWELL IN ATTENDANCEOrganizers of the jeans and fashion fair JAM Cologne reported another solid edition, with an increase in exhibitor and visitor attendance by over 30%.
Over the three days from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, 10,400 visitors came to view the collections presented by 370 exhibitors. The areas of the product-focused trade fair included denim, sportswear, young fashion and accessories. Visitors came mainly from Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium.
Once again, the response to JAM was positive, although news concerning the state of Berlin’s trade fair business — Bread & butter confirmed last week it would be moving back to Berlin — caused some concern amongst exhibitors and visitors.
“It is too bad that the changes regarding Bread & Butter dominated the discussions at JAM. More time was spent speculating about the future than acknowledging the current trade fair,” explained exhibitor Peter Kelzenberg, Pioneer Jeans.
Still, the trade fair was a success for most exhibitors and the extension to three days was welcomed by all participants.
“Thanks to our new concept as a working trade fair we are not direct in competition and will continue to offer a platform in the medium segment,” said Günther Sommer, JAM Marketing and Sales Manager.
