ISRAELI DESIGNER NIRAN AVISAR WINS ITS#TEN DIESEL AWARDThe final event for the 10th anniversary edition of ITS (International Talent Support) contest, took place in Trieste, Italy, on Saturday, July 16, 2011. The 2011 Diesel Award, was bestowed upon Niran Avisar, an Israeli student of the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Ramat Gan, by Renzo Rosso, President of Diesel.
Avisar’s collection pays tribute to the male gender and its fragile masculinity creating a dialogue between Egon Schiele's figures and his outfits. Niran Avisar used deer leather and knits combined with woven wool in his collection which is a journey back in time, to the dandy of the beginning of the last century.
The Diesel Award (see our report) supports the ideas of young talents. For this edition, the winner received a cash prize of € 25,000, in order to promote his work in the best possible ways and to invest in his career. In addition to that, Avisar will be offered an internship of six months within the Diesel creative team at the company’s headquarters in Italy.
