Denham x A.C.F. launches limited edition aprons for United Arrows
Premium denim brand Denham has launched its exclusive Tailor’s Apron. The aprons will be available in limited quantities only at multibrand Japanese apparel specialty store chain United Arrows & Sons for S/S 2014.
The project has been inspired by the demonstration/exhibition held by the A.C.F. collaboration “The Hard Graft – The DJ Technique Applied to Menswear” in 2013. Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh of Art Comes First partnered with Denham’s Design Director, Liam Maher for the event held in Florence, New York, Copenhagen and Las Vegas, celebrating hybridization in menswear (also see our report, S.I. Magazine, issue 257). Dedicated to Denham’s mantra “Worship Tradition, Destroy Convention”, the events witnessed the deconstruction and reconstruction of iconic menswear garments. At each stage of the tour, the A.C.F. crew appeared outfitted in Denham’s trademark selvedge denim aprons.
Longtime supporters of both the A.C.F. and Denham, United Arrows & Sons commissioned a customized design of the apron inspired by the Hard Graft events. Denham’s founder Jason Denham and the rest of his crew worked closely with the A.C.F. to develop a special design capturing the spirit of the original Hard Graft – grafting together the design ethos of both the A.C.F. and Denham.
The aprons are made out of virgin denim cloth and characterized by design elements such as a lapel-like suspension concept and large pockets.
The aprons will be available in limited quantities only at United Arrows & Sons
