DOCKERS HEADS IN NEW DIRECTIONThe fall/winter 2012-13 season indicates a new, cleaner image for US trouser brand Dockers, as seen at recent trade shows and through the company's most recent ad campaign, featuring Bear Grylls. Among the newest elements presented was the Art of Khaki capsule collection, a reinterpretation of menswear classics like fitted blazers, vests and chinos with tailor-made detailing. “It is a stylish and modern clean approach to menswear," commented Angelo Ng, the brand's senior director of global merchandising. “The apparel business continues to change and we must change with it if we want to stay on top of trends.”

The Alpha Khaki pant, a trouser model styled like a chino though cut like a jean, is also new. “We like to say it's where jeans end and khakis begin. They're a step above denim and light-years from cubicle-wear. We consider the Alpha the first step in a new generation of khakis."
Last but not least, the Sharp & Ready sub-collection shows a decided step toward a more refined masculine image in its selection of products. Designed with the aim of presenting a sophisticated yet youthful men's image, the collection includes yarn-dyed light grey and black pinstriped brushed fabrics. Their D-zero slim fit pant in checked or herringbone Stretch Cord completes the range.
