"Diesel for Only The Brave Foundation" - Men
10 Feb. 2012
DIESEL FOR ONLY THE BRAVE FOUNDATIONStarting from spring/summer 2012, Diesel will present a series of seasonal collectable t-shirts and a bracelet under the label “Diesel for Only The Brave Foundation”. The seasonal collector edition t-shirt and bracelet will fund sustainable development projects throughout the world. Proceeds of the sale in the Diesel stores throughout the world and online will be donated to the Only The Brave Foundation, a not for profit organization with the mission to mobilize people all over the world to end extreme poverty. It researches and invests in a wide range of projects providing solutions to some of the world’s most challenging problems.
New items will reach the stores every season, each bearing a different message taken directly from the Foundation's own manifesto printed on the inside of the t-shirt. For the first tee in this edition, the message is “We believe in less talk”, a hint to the foundation's principle of generating concrete actions that directly benefit those in need. The neckline sweatband features the national colors of Mali, where the Only The Brave Foundation is financing the sustainable development of a 20,000 inhabitant village.
The t-shirts (available in one men’s and one women’s styles) are inspired by a vintage tee from founder Renzo Rosso’s private collection. The number “1978”, the year when the Diesel brand was created, is embroidered white on white in the front, which features a small front pocket which can’t be opened - a nod to Diesel’s mischievous sense of humor.
The bracelet recalls Diesel’s heritage combining a piece of selvedge denim and smooth suede leather in indigo blue, secured by an antiqued metal ring. The length can be adjusted according to individual taste and the bracelet can be wrapped around the wrist, or as a necklace in any way preferred.
