Carhartt opens in Düsseldorf
16 Nov. 2012
Carhartt re-opens flagship in DüsseldorfOn Saturday, November 17 Carhartt WIP will open a new flagship on Düsseldorf’s Mittelstraße, taking the former place of the multi-label boutique Vibes. The store is the brand’s second in the northern German city, coming after 2003’s nearby Carlsplatz location. Carhartt WIP will commemorate the opening with a limited edition T-shirt emblazoned with Düsseldorf’s city arms as well as with an opening party on November 16, complete with a DJ set by Marcus Worgull for invited guests and press.
Designers from Italy’s Andrea Caputo Studios worked to rebuild and recreate the 550 sqm store with a rough, industrial feel paired with modern neon logos from artist Pietro Sanguineti amid which the label’s womenswear, menswear and Heritage Line will be presented. The Düsseldorf store is Carhartt WIP’s eighth in Europe and is preceded by locations in London, Stuttgart, Lille, Milan, Zurich and Zaragoza, as well as 50 shops around the world.
