CPD HOLDS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL EDITION

CPD, the international trade show for womenswear held Feb. 7 to 9, posted a rise in visitor attendance and drew positive reactions across various sections of the show.

Around 20,000 trade visitors came to the fair for its 519 exhibitors and 1,010 collections. “The mood in the halls was excellent on Sunday and still very good on Monday,” said Igedo Managing Director Philipp Kronen.

He and his team were glad to host many new collections and had invested a great deal of energy in strengthening their marketing.

“The rumors as to the future of CPD triggered a huge wave of solidarity amongst exhibitors,” said Kronen.

Comments by the exhibitors were also positive. Annett Röstel of Annett Röstel said: “It was very busy at our stand. It couldn’t have been better. YaYa’s Patrick Draiger added: “We are highly satisfied and will be doubling our space in July.

For the “Italian Suite,” a special platform for Italian brands, the show was also successful for business and new contacts, said Alberto Scaccioni of Ente Moda Italia.

On a related note, Igedo Company is planning a new showroom concept separate from the fair ground with about 100 innovative brands from Jul. 24-28 in Düsseldorf-Oberkassel. With the new concept Igedo Company will offer a new platform for fashion and art. “We have to pursue new paths,” explained Mirjam Dietz, Executive Fashion Director of Igedo company.

In addition to the fashion fair and activities in about 800 showrooms Düsseldorf was the site of several events in fashion and art. With support from the organization “Voices of fashion” and the city government, Düsseldorf was, for a weekend, the meeting point for creative people and events, fashion, art, music and fun in stores, fancy places, galleries and streets. Whisper Lounge, for example, was one hot spot in Düsseldorf for 400 fashion people. Design competitions and catwalk shows from the fashion school AMD in collaboration with Igedo Company, fashion exhibitions, celebrities, and a fashion lounge were the main events in Düsseldorf. Last but not least, the fashion store Jades celebrated its 10th anniversary with special guests and the launch of its 228-page anniversary magazine, custom Ugg Boots and make-up artists.
