British Fashion Awards Announce WinnersThis year’s British Fashion Awards awarded 14 winners. In recognition of her momentous year in design achievements and contribution to Team GB, Stella McCartney was named Designer of the Year and was also given the award for Designer Brand.
The Outstanding Achievement in Fashion award, which celebrates one designer who has truly impacted global fashion, went to Manolo Blahnik CBE. Professor Louise Wilson OBE, who now celebrates her 20th year as Course Director of the Fashion MA at Central St Martins, was honored with the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator. Wilson is known as one of the top educators of our time and has taught the likes of Christopher Kane, Jonathan Saunders, Mary Katrantzou, Roksanda Ilincic, Marios Schwab, Louise Gray, Michael van der Ham and Simone Rocha.
Nicholas Kirkwood took home the prize for Accessory Designer whereas Erdem received the New Establishment award. For the second year in a row, Kim Jones was named Menswear Designer for his achievements on Louis Vuitton’s menswear line while this year’s Red Carpet Award went to Roksanda Ilincic, whose creations have graced prominent women like the Duchess of Cambridge, Samantha Cameron and Michele Obama.

The event’s series of Emerging Talent Awards included Ready-to-Wear, Menswear and Accessories and were awarded to J.W. Anderson, Jonathan Saunders and Sophie Hulme, respectively. Model of the Year went to Cara Delevinge, who walked 31 shows in September and was named the start face of the winter season by British Vogue. Finally, Vodafone’s British Style Award, which selects a celebrity that embodies the spirit of London at home and abroad and is decided entirely by the public, was awarded to Alexa Chung.
