80s 90s Fashion Exhibition In Rimini
The exhibition "80s 90s Fashion Facing Beauties - Italian fashion and Japanese Fashion at a Glance" will be inaugurated in Rimini tomorrow, on 11 October 2013 at the presence of different personalities such as; Akiko Fukai, director and chief curator of the Kyoto Costume Institute; Tamami Suoh, curator of the Kyoto Costume Institute; Romeo Gigli, fashion designer; and Attilio Mazzini, Italian retailer and fashion collector.
The exhibition opens 11 October - 8 December 2013 and will be hosted in Museo della Città - Ala Nuova, in Rimini. The exhibition was curated by Simona Segre Reinach in collaboration with students in the BA and MA degree program in Fashion at the University of Bologna, Rimini Campus. It investigates the aesthetic, cultural and communicative innovations of Italian Fashion and Japanese Fashion as two representative fashion systems throughout the 1980s and the 1990s.

The protagonists of the exhibition are a selection of signature outfits by prêt-à-porter Italian designers such as Armani, Versace, Ferré, Moschino, and Coveri, and prestigious Japanese designers such as Miyake, Kawakubo and Yamamoto. All of the outfits are courtesy of the fashion archive Archivi di Ricerca Mazzini di Massa Lombarda (Italy).
