Over 110,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibitors attended the 20th Chic Beijing

20th EDITION OF CHIC BEIJINGThe 20th edition of Chic Beijing took place last week from March 26-29, attracting over 1,000 national and international exhibitors as well as over 110,000 visitors. More than 60 events were organized to promote fashion brands to the Chinese market and inform on fashion trends and strategies. 400 exhibitors from 21 countries provided an overview of global offerings with Italy acting as the biggest participant with over 70 brands on show. Germany, which displayed 26 labels, was also an important addition and saw great results. For example, Norbert Lock, Managing Director of MarcCain, reported, “We are happy to have signed two contracts with franchise partners in Taiwan and Hefei, which were still blank areas for us.” Belgium's Sarah Pacini, Spain's Desigual, Austria's Glasswein and Germany's Rena Lange and SLVR adidas were also particularly significant.
Furthermore, the fair reflected an era of progress for Chinese fashion brands, with companies like Youngor, Bosideng and Metersbonwe gaining ground and showcasing their multitude of labels due to the fair's success. Over 1,000 journalists from across the globe were also in attendance, illustrating just how vital Chic has become to the fashion sector as a platform for demand and supply, as well as a voice for sustainability in fashion design.
Mr. Chen Dapeng, Vice President of the China National Garment Association and President of Chic emphasized, “Chic gets more and more international every year and serves as the bridge for stepping into the Chinese consumer market. We are supporting new exhibitors from other countries and have developed flanking measures to strengthen their participation.”
