Event Preview: Copenhagen Fashion Summit

On April 24, the Copenhagen Opera House will welcome the 3rd edition of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit. Organized by the Danish Fashion Institute, the show will host more than 1,000 global attendees, including leading voices in the world of fashion, luxury, business and enterprise, in order to discuss the fashion industry’s social and environmental responsibility. The event coincides with the one-year anniversary of the Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh.

Among the supporters, the trade fabric show organizer Première Vision will participate in a panel discussion about responsible manufacturing with an intervention by Chantal Malingrey, marketing and development director of Première Vision. Next to Vanessa Friedman (Fashion Editor, Financial Times), who will be moderating the event, other participants at this discussion are Marco Lucietti (Global Marketing Director, Isko), Giusy Bettoni (CEO and Founder, C.L.A.S.S.) and Catarina Midby (Head of Sustainable Fashion, H&M).

Other highlights of this upcoming edition are the opening speech of princess Mary of Denmark, patron of Copenhagen Fashion Summit, along with keynotes from Kering, the Financial Times, and sustainability advocates such as Livia Firth and Connie Nielsen. In addition, the event will offer an exclusive sustainable runway show featuring 11 renowned Nordic fashion brands including Filippa K, Ivana Helsinki and Designers Remix. The participating designers have used innovative and sustainable fabrics including organic, recycled and renewable textiles provided by H&M, C.L.A.S.S., Lenzing, Monocel and Hemp Fortex, among others. A jury composed of fashion media and industry members will award the most outstanding achievements of selected participants.

Copenhagen Fashion Summit is open for registration until April 18. Interested parties may register here: http://copenhagenfashionsummit.com/registration
