Busy CPD weekend in Düsseldorf


It was business as usual at the order weekend in Düsseldorf from January 31st to February 4th. After the great fair start in Berlin, Düsseldorf was the place to give orders for the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter season. The fairs Gallery, Premium, Supreme, Date, as well as the order activities of over 800 showrooms and the fashion houses in the city were organized under the roof of CPD. In general all exhibitors in the showrooms and retailers were in a good order mood and looking for winter fashion and also giving pre-orders for Spring/Summer. Düsseldorf is the traditional place for Russian buyers, who spent more than a week here. Also buyers from Eastern Europe, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Italy were busy. Fashion House had organised a Russian translation service for the foreign guests.

The Gallery can look back on a successful weekend with 5,000 visitors from 16 nations (compared to 4,000 visitors for the same season last year). Gallery expanded on 6,200sqm and featured 260 collections at the “Botschaft”. Project Director Ulrike Kähler: “We have enhanced our portfolio in the Contemporary and Design segments with 30% new exhibitors and have vastly expanded our ranges with the Evening segment in the Hilton Hotel.” Philip Kronen, Managing Partner of Igedo Company: “CPD as an umbrella brand for all suppliers at the Düsseldorf location also strengthens our own brand.” We will continue promoting Düsseldorf´s standing as a fashion capital by supporting the initiative of all parties involved with events such as the Fashion Net Come Together, shuttle service and joint marketing opportunities.”

At Supreme approximately 450 collections were presented. Founder Alina Schade said: “The fair has expanded; we have sold every square metre. Even for the summer edition we have already received all bookings from high-end brands.” Supreme already has waiting lists and will look for additional space. Visitors were happy with the quality of brands and the nice atmosphere.

Even Premium order had a successful weekend. 400 high-end collections for men and women and authentic independent brands were showing their collections.

The highlight in Düsseldorf was the platform for fashion organised by Kollektiv K. 1,500 visitors joined the catwalk shows of Basler, Annette Görtz, Milian, Barbara Schwarzer, Thomas Rath and Maison Anoufa. Perhaps the catwalk event will bring a little bit more glamour to Düsseldorf.
