WP Lavori in Corso distributes Palladium in Italy
Starting with the spring/summer 2014 season, WP Lavori in Corso will be responsible for distribution of the Palladium footwear brand in Italy.
The French brand is well known for its iconic desert boot, also known as the original Pampa boot and offers a complete collection for men, women and kids using 100% stonewashed premium quality cotton canvas.
Palladium was founded in 1920 and specialized in the production of tires for the fledgling aviation industry. Tires were made by layering canvas bands beneath vulcanized rubber. Palladium became so skilled in its field that soon the majority of Europe's aircraft were fitted with Palladium tires.
After World War II, with aircraft manufacturing screeching to a halt, the demand for tires decreased dramatically. Palladium decided to open a plant in Pont De Cheruy, France, for producing footwear that was as hard-wearing as their tires. In 1947 the legendary Pampa boot was born, and its functionality, comfort and durability were so outstanding that the French Foreign Legion adopted it for their use. The Foreign Legion put the boot to the test in the harsh desert conditions of North Africa and throughout the rugged terrain of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and Tunisia.
WP Lavori in Corso was founded in Bologna in 1980 and is now an international distributor and licensor for the brands Woolrich John Rich & Bros, Woolrich Penn-rich, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Baracuta, Barbour, BD Baggies and Blundstone. WP Lavori in Corso additionally markets international research brands such as Beams +, Nanamica, Fith, and Maison Kitsunè within its portfolio.
