Breuninger opens in Düsseldorf


Breuninger has opened a new 15,000sqm department store in Düsseldorf’s new shopping area Kö-Bogen, on Thursday 17 October.

The fashion and lifestyle company celebrated the opening with 800 guests at a spectacular red carpet event. Guests included international celebrities such as Brooke Shields, Irina Shayk, Barbara Becker, Katja Flint and others.

The generous architecture ensemble created by architect Daniel Libeskind is a landmark for Düsseldorf. Nearby, the famous shopping street Königsallee, Kö-Bogen offers a mix of high-end fashion flagship stores, retail stores and restaurants. Breuninger offers a comprehensive lifestyle world with fashion, beauty, shoes and accessories, as well as designer brands and newcomers. The shoe department has 25,000 pairs of shoes over 1000sqm and shows brands like Dolce&Gabbana, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Valentino and Ugg. International designers present their collections on the ground floor, which also shows exclusive accessory collections from Gucci, Valentino, Burberry, Bottega Veneta and Michael Kors. Highlights of the womenswear department are Just Cavalli, M Missoni, The Row, Zadig & Voltaire, Sandro, Rag & Bone, Marc Cain, Closed and Marc O´Polo. The assortment for men shows fashion, shoes and accessories from Ermenegildo Zegna, Dior, Armani, Burberry, Dries van Noten, Tiger of Sweden and Alexander McQueen. Another highlight is the restaurant “Sansibar by Breuninger”. “The new architecture concept Kö-Bogen has a metropolitan standard and is the perfect position for us,” explained Willy Oergel, COO, Breuninger.
