Mykita opens New York storeBerlin-based eyewear brand Mykita unveiled its first shop in the US on Wednesday evening. Located at 109 Crosby Street at the corner of Prince Street in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, the store is the brand’s eighth standalone shop worldwide. It joins sister stores in Berlin, Paris, Zurich, Vienna, Tokyo, Monterrey (Mexico) and Cartagena (Colombia).
The store’s all-white interior was designed to best show off the eyeglass frames, which are displayed on backlit shelves. In addition, repurposed flight-attendant trolleys serve as unique storage containers.
The store also has an onsite lab, the “Relaxed Vision Center,” where an in-house optometrist uses precision instruments from Carl Zeiss research to create customized vision profiles for visitors.
Mykita says that the US accounts for about 20% of its total international sales volume. The store’s hours are 11 to 7 Monday through Saturday and 12 to 6 on Sunday.
