MM6 Maison Martin Margiela’s first opening in EuropeMM6 Maison Martin Margiela has opened it's first ever European store since the line was launched in 1997. Located in Paris’ first arrondissement on the place du Marché Saint Honoré, the 80 square metre store boasts a typically stripped back, raw architecture, sitting comfortably amongst its cosy, leafy surroundings.
Classic industrial warm-white coloured tiles cover all walls, floor and ceiling. This ceramic box breaks only to reveal a path formed of dark, chevron patterned, wooden parquet. The direction of the chevron, leading from the black, bare, store front to the back of the store, is mirrored and reversed on the ceiling, reinforcing the monochrome colour palette.
The new location is MM6’s second store, the first opening its doors in New York in September 2012, during its fashion week, where, as part of the official calendar, MM6 has hosted a presentation for the past seasons.
