Snipe Unveils First Compostable Shoe at GDS
12 Mar. 2013
Snipe distribution finishedGabor Footwear GmbH will stop distribution of its brand Snipe by the end of Spring/Summer season 2013. The decision was taken owing to entrepreneurial and strategic reasons. Managing director Heiner Terbuyken explained that the growth perspective of the brand was not given.
In 2009 the German Company Gabor took over the Spanish brand Snipe. The aim was to establish Snipe as a high-grade and ecological brand in the segment of sustainable footwear fashion. Although this segment is growing, the brand didn´t reach the expected target. The higher price level of the brand as well as the high cost of ecological materials and production in Europe meant the brand failed to penetrate the market.
The delivery of Spring/Summer collection will be completed, but the collection Autumn/Winter 2013 will not be delivered.
