Show Report: Copenhagen Fashion fairsThe Copenhagen fashion trade shows, which ran from 31st January till 2nd February, have, after three busy days, closed their doors. Vision, CIFF and the Gallery announced an even more successful run than last year with an increased selection of exhibiting brands and visitors alike.
Visions’ International Retailers have increased 6% since August. The increase is due to renewed interest from UK, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Southern Europe and Asia. Within these sales, it is the continuous rise in Asian buyers, especially from China and Japan that accounted for the lion’s share of increased sales.
International buyers visiting this season include Isetan, Hypebeast, Quartier 206, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Gerzon, Bendorff, El Corte Ingles, Asos and Takashimaya.
“We believe the increase in International buyers is a result of the long-termed marketing strategy at VISION, as well as the PR strategy focused on Northern Europe and Asia. Since the launch of VISION in August, we have done our utmost to attract established brands to ensure a strong brand portfolio at VISION. Our intensified focus on exhibitors and buyers service also proved right - meeting the demands of exhibitors and buyers is extremely important in these times.“ says Peter Fenger Selchau, CEO at VISION.
The trade show showcased a range of some 400 brands at Lokomotivværkstedet with an exhibitor portfolio of women’s wear, menswear, emerging designers, footwear and accessories.
Gallery were attended by 9831 visitors in the first two days, which is a 10% increase compared to Thursday and Friday in February 2012. Mainly Scandinavian visitors were still dominant, but Gallery experienced an increasing number of buyers from China, Japan and Russia as well.
The buyers at Gallery this time were Isitan, Asos, Net a Porter, Zalando, Sarah from Colette, Luisa ViaRoma, Liberty, Galeries Lafayette, Barneys, Takashima as well as the Alter Style from Shanghai.
CIFF were visited by international buyers including a four-fold increase of Swedish buyers in relation to last season. This past Fall/Winter 2013-14 fair, CIFF unveiled Crystal Hall, a new showcase for forward-looking brands as well as a special collaboration with Copenhagen's premiere concept store, Storm. CIFF also featured the new Danish design firm KiBiSi.
