Denim By PV Asia reports successPremiere Vision has finally released the results of its simultaneously held Shanghai shows, which took place from October 23-24 under the names Première Vision China and Denim by Première Vision Asia.
Both shows drew 3,654 visitors to the banks of the Huangpu River’s East Dock, a former cotton mill dating back to 1929. Denim by Première Vision Asia attracted 2,804 visitors in two days and presented a complete and creative offer for the denim industry, including weavers, garment makers, finishers, accessory makers, laundries, technology and fiber producers. A total of 42 exhibitors from 12 countries included Bossa, Candiani, Isko, ITVomano, JWS, Kaihara, Montebello, Orta, Sartex and Tejidos Royo as well as internationally recognized brands from the denim community such as CK Jeans, Converse, Diesel, Esprit, Gap, G-Star, Guess Asia Limited, H&M, Inditex, Levi's, Prada HongKong, Ralph Lauren, Tesco China, Uniqlo and VF Group.
Among generally optimistic feedback, Tejidos Royo creative director Panos Sofianos said: “The experience was very positive and we look forward to continue participating in the show. Being immersed in this market makes one understand how different it is and the huge differences in consumer priorities and needs. I think it will take a while before this market area’s apparel companies begin to understand our value, but I'm sure that in a population of one and a half billion, a market niche that is interested in our products will emerge.”
