Who’s Next announces new layout and guest nation

French accessories and apparel fair Who’s Next has modified the layout of the show, joining together the two designer platforms of the show, Fame (womenswear) and Premiere Classe (accessories), in hall 4. During last winter’s edition, both areas were separated. One more time, halls 3 and 7.1 will host the womenswear ready-to-wear collections and Who’s Next Accessories, which can be found at the entrance of the exhibition center (hall 5). According to the organizers, this new layout will allow them to use the outdoor space in order to present visitors a real summer show.

Another novelty of the show is the designation of Turkey as a guest nation. A logical decision if we take into account the numbers that the organizers has given: the number of Turkish visitors has increased fourfold since 2009 and the number of Turkish designers and brands has increased seven times in this period. The record was beaten last July, with 41 exhibiting designers and nearly 600 visitors from Turkey. Inspired by Istanbul’s creative scene, Who’s Next will celebrate three different exhibitions. ‘Istanbul Tales’ will let 11 Turkish designers, selected by the “Turkish designers association”, create one piece, celebrating Istanbul. Fashion label Dice Kayek will present three dresses from their ‘Istanbul Contrast’ collection, winner of the 2013 Jameel Prize. Finally, the concept store Midnight Express will style 4 famous Turkish actresses using pieces purchased from international and Turkish designers that exhibit at Fame.

Who’s Next has also announced that the Istanbul Moda Academy will also participate in the fashion school’s competition for the first time, which - for this season - is based on Hussein Chalayan. In collaboration with the online designer platform Not Just a Label, Who’s Next runs The Future of Fashion Program, an initiative that allows emerging designers to grow internationally.

The next edition of the trade show will take place in Paris from 4th to 7th July 2014, where designers and brands will introduce their SS’15 collections.
