For fall, Asics, the sport performance footwear and apparel brand, is addressing anatomical differences in men’s and women’s feet in its GEL-Nimbus 12 and GEL-Cumulus 12 so that there’s now extra cushioning under the balls of the foot for women, along with a gender-specific Trusstic System, which recognizes variations in womens’ arches throughout the month as estrogen levels fluctuate. Plus3T, also a new innovation, raises the heel an additional 3mm off the achllles tendon for female runners that are prone to Achilles tendonitis. This season, GEL-Excels, in the training category, are notably sleeker with a dance-inspired forefoot for a more feminine, stylish appearance and are available in four fashion-forward colors; we also liked the new active run Ajiyo apparel collection featuring vibrant tops and bottoms ideal for pilates and yoga that hinted at another fresh direction for the brand.
