VICTORINOX DESIGNS FOR DAIMLER

Swiss brand Victorinox had collaborated with car manufacturer Daimler. The companies have co-designed a Smart ForTwo automobile. The limited edition car is now available at a starting price of €27,000 for the sport sedan and €30,000 for the convertible.

"It might sound odd at first, but our pocket knives and the Smart car are congeneric. Both have Swiss roots, both have plastic shell around inner values of steel. It is also obvious that both brands represent quality and sustainability and emphasize the functionality of their products,” said Carl Elsener Jr, who heads Victorinox in its forth generation.

"This cooperation is the melding of two visions, the merging of passion and the blend of values of two companies that are both avant-garde and pioneers at the same time," added Jürgen Herrmann, director at Daimler and responsible for Smart Center along the Rhine and Ruhr rivers.

This is the first collaboration the Swiss Army Knife family business Victorinox had made with an automaker.
