VENTE PRIVEE LAUNCHES DUTCH WEBSITEContinuing its expansion, online platform vente-privee.com has launched a Dutch site and thus has entered its eight market. Apart from being present in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK, the company had launched sites in Austria and Belgium in 2010 and had announced its arrival in the United States in partnership with American Express. Vente-Privee.com now offers an international version of its website in English which aims not only to cater for the Dutch market, but also hopes to enable further geographical development and expansion into other Northern European countries. According to Vente Privee, the addition of the Netherlands confirms the site’s development strategy, which corresponds to an existing demand and taps into the serious potential that the Dutch market has to offer, including a high number of e-shoppers (63%).
“Over the last ten years, we have built and maintained strong ties with the biggest and most well-known international brands,” comments Jacques-Antoine Granjon, CEO and founder of vente-privee.com. “We are happy to be establishing ourselves in this new market and to be able to offer our services to Dutch consumers.”
Jörg Hensen, who was appointed as Director of Northern Europe in June of this year, will supervise activities on the Dutch website. “The exponential development of sales events on the Internet and in all e-commerce markets across Europe proves the success of the business model created by vente-privee.com.”
Jörg Hensen, Director of Northern Europe at Vente Privee
The nomination of Hensen as Director Northern Europe was carried out in line with the company’s ambitious objectives for the expansion of the European market. His task is to oversee the activities of vente-privee.com in the UK, the German and Austrian markets, as well as launching sites in new Northern European markets such as the Netherlands. Hensen brings along a wide-ranging experience as he took on various roles in the fields of e-commerce and home shopping.
Vente-Privee.com was founded in 2001 and organizes exclusive sales for its 14 million members. In 2010, the company generated a gross turnover of €969 million, which equals a year-on-year increase of 15%.
