TOM TAILOR EXPANDS ITS E-BUSINESS TO RUSSIATom Tailor expands its sales activities in Russia by launching an online shop. Through its Russian site the German brand sells its entire lifestyle world and accessories, including Tom Tailor Casual, Tom Tailor Denim and the new Tom Tailor Polo Team collection.
"E-commerce is a central pillar of our growth strategy and will be a particular focus in 2012. At the same time, Russia, with its population of around 140 million, is an especially attractive growth market for Tom Tailor. Our brand is already very popular with consumers in Russia and available in more than 25 franchise stores. Thus, creating a Russian online shop was the next logical step. This allows us to make our products available to even more Russian consumers and it will also strengthen our internet sales channel," says Dieter Holzer, CEO of Tom Tailor.
The online shop has been set up in cooperation with the Russian Internet specialist Private Trade e-Commerce Services (PTEСS, KupiVIP.ru Group), who will be taking responsibility for the entire fulfilment process. Tom Tailor will be responsible for stock management as well as for marketing activities.
The brand currently has e-shops for Germany, Austria, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. In the first quarter, TOM TAILOR's e-commerce sales increased by 60% against the previous quarter to EUR 7.0 million.
