SYMPATEX COLLABORATES WITH ESMOD MUNICH

Sympatex Technologies, the hi-tech fabric specialist, has collaborated for a second time with students from Esmod, the international fashion school in Munich.

The task this time was to show that high performance fabrics can not only be used for sports apparel in the classical way. Sympatex offered a lot of freedom to students to interpret its fabrics in their own ways according to the theme, “Sportstyle redefined.” The results were highly creative and avant-garde. A jury with experts from the fashion and sports apparel business, among them Sportswear International, were on hand to select the winners: the first place went to Sophie Puhlmann for her complex outfit for biking. In second place Regina Volgger designed an outfit for snowboarding, while Anneliese Umali won third place for her highly flexible outfit for sky-diving. The jury considered criteria such as the uniqueness of patterns, quality of manufacturing, and inclusion of funny and/or clever details.

The joint workshop by Sympatex and Esmod is designed to offer students practice and experience with the industry. The last workshop, titled "High-Class Fashion," yielded couture and evening fashions made with functional fabrics.
