SPORTSCHECK CHAIN OPENS IN FRANKFURT

German retailer SportScheck has invested in new stores, with its next store opening set for Nov. 5. in Frankfurt. The store will carry apparel and hardware for the running, outdoor, fitness, alpine, surf and snowboard categories, with more than 400 brands on three floors measuring a total of 3,000 sq. meters. The retailer has also organized a four-day-celebration for its opening. In line with its philosophy of “We go in for sports,” visitors from Thursday to Sunday have the chance to try out a high-wire course in front of the SportScheck building. The retailer will also offer signing sessions and interviews with international stars including Erik Zabel (racing cyclist), Ariane Friedrich (high jumper), Steffi Nerius and Jennifer Oeser (athletes), Birgit Prinz (footballer) and Uschi Disl (athlete). SportScheck is one of the biggest stockists of sporting goods in Germany, with 15 chain stores occupying more than 40,000 sq. meters of retail space.
