Ready, Set, Go: Munich Fabric Start and The Blue Zone

Kicking off the fall/winter 2013/14 season, Munich Fabric Start, the international trade fair for fabric and additional suppliers, will take place in Bavarian capital’s exhibitions center M,O,C, from September 4-6. The event will host a record number of 850 exhibitors and expects 20,000 visitors, all of who are excited to discover information on the future of sustainable fashion, innovation in sourcing and the latest trends.

A new area hosted by MFS will be the Patternstudios, a special workshop located on the first floor of MOC, where artists and textile designers can showcase and market their fabric designs, artwork and one-off pieces. The creative Infopool will round out Munich Fabric Start’s wide offering of information, technical lectures and panel discussions.

Parallel to MFS, the denim-focused Blue Zone exhibition will take place on September 4-5 in the neighboring Zenith Hall. The event will host 55 exhibitors - including market leaders like Isko, Candiani, Tejidos Royo and New Bramatex - who will provide an extensive preview of the innovations and trends for the upcoming season.

Sustainable manufacturing techniques ranging from water-saving laundry and finishing processes to innovative recycling methods will be presented in the Green Zone. Making their debut at last year’s fair, the Sustainability Talks will continue with high-caliber speakers in cooperation with the Textile Exchange at the Cinema of the Trend Platform WGSN in the Blue Zone.
