ROBERT HANSON TO LEAVE LEVI’SAs he announced in a blog post on the company’s corporate website, Robert Hanson is leaving his position as Global President of the Levi’s brand after an almost 24-year-long career at Levi Strauss & Co.
Hanson will remain in the company for a transition period until November 27, 2011. There has not been an official press release so far and the outgoing president has not commented on his future career plans yet but it seems as if CEO Chip Bergh was to undertake Hanson’s position transitionally until a new president is found.
The American had started at Levi Strauss & Co. as Advertising Manager in 1988 and then continously moved up the ranks of the world-known denim brand. In his most recent blog post, he explained his decision to leave his job with reference to Levi’s current advertising campaign: "It’s time for a new chapter in my life, time for me to ‘Go Forth".
