ROBERT HANSON TO BECOME CEO OF AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERSAfter having announced that he is leaving Levi Strauss & Co. after 23 years, (see our related news), Robert Hanson will join American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. as the company’s new CEO and member of the Board of Directors, effective Jan. 30, 2012. Robert Hanson succeeds retiring CEO Jim O’Donnell, who has led the company since 2002.
Jay Schottenstein, Chairman, American Eagle Outfitters Inc., commented on the appointment of Robert Hanson: “After an extensive search, we believe Robert is the ideal person to build on American Eagle Outfitter’s strengths, maximize our portfolio of brands across North America and propel our brands into new markets across the world. He brings extensive experience in the apparel industry and global brand positioning.”
