Paris Ethical Fashion Show Postponed

While Berlin’s fashion shows continue on a path of positive development, the Ethical Fashion Show Paris, which was to be held in January, has been indefinitely postponed. Organizers from Messe Frankfurt made the decision in response to current difficulties within the French market. Michael Scherpe, President of Messe Frankfurt France, explained: “There is no significant demand for a business platform oriented towards ecological, ethical and fairly produced fashions in Paris at present.”

As an alternative, the planners are considering holding a trade fair at another point in time to increase consumer awareness of sustainable fashion. Meanwhile, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies Olaf Schmidt reported: “The trade fairs in Berlin continue to develop dynamically and we have already received numerous registrations for January 2013. We are extremely optimistic about these events.”

The GREENshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin, main platforms of the city’s eco fashion scene, will take place from January 15-17, 2013.
