PURE SPIRIT LAUNCHES NEXT GENERATION INITIATIVEFashion exhibition Pure Spirit has begun a search for fresh design talent as part of its new Next Generation initiative. The selection process is open to British and international designers of menswear, womenswear and accessories with a focus on young fashion and the ability to deliver volume-led wholesale orders. Launching at the next edition of Pure Spirit from Feb 13-15, 2011, Next Generation will provide two winning designers with free stands and the opportunity to sell their collections to the buyers. Another 14 short listed designers will be invited to exhibit their collections.
“By identifying and nurturing the most talented designers on the international young fashion stage, Spirit is paving the way for the hottest brands of the future,” said Pure Spirit event director, Samantha Bleasby.
Before two winners are selected, all Next Generation applicants will be reviewed by a judging panel of Britain’s fashion editors and industry opinion-formers. These include leading buyers and designers. All Pure Spirit Next generation designers will also win the opportunity to attend the Drapers Next Generation Academy with over 100 bright young stars. At the Drapers Next Generation Academy, the new talents are provided with “must have” support, advice, training and industry knowledge.
