PHILIPP PLEIN EXPLORES MENSWEAR

Swiss-based interior and fashion export Philipp Plein is releasing a new menswear collection for the upcoming fall/winter season. Phlipp Plein Homme is inspired by the womenswear collections Philipp Plein Couture and Plein Fetish, which also symbolize the fusion of rock and glamour. The designer focuses for his first menswear collection on leather jackets in different styles, starting at the retail price of €1,800. Eveningwear sets another tone for the collection, with blazers running €750 and shirts at €260. The typical Philipp Plein details like jewelry applications and back prints turn up in the collection as well. Following last year’s collaboration with Barbie producer Mattel, the company is partnering with the American cartoon production firm of Walt Disney. Mickey, Bambi and Co. will be newly interpreted via prints and embroidery on shirts and leather jackets. Retail prices range from €298 for Disney print shirts to €1,990 for a Minnie Mouse leather jacket.
