Moncler sells Industries to Emerisque fundMoncler has announced it has sold its Industries Sportswear Company in its entirety, including the Marina Yachting, Henry Cotton’s, Coast Weber & Ahaus brands and the licence for 18CRR81 Cerruti, to Cavaliere Brands (Italy) S.r.l., a company indirectly controlled by Emerisque Brands UK Limited (Emerisque Brands).
Following from the completion of the transaction, an SPV owned by Moncler shareholders Ruffini Partecipazioni s.r.l, ECIP M S.A (a company controlled by Eurazeo), CEP III Participations S.à r.l. SICAR (a company controlled by the Carlyle group), and Goodjohn s.r.l. signed for a capital increase in Cavaliere Brands (Italy) S.r.l. and acquired a 30% stake in its share capital.
By end 2012, the sportswear division of the company that accounts for Industries Sportswear Company was worth €135 million.
Founded in 2004, Emerisque is a global investor aimed at developing and growing its portfolio of brands. It operates mainly in the UK, USA and Hong Kong. Since April 2013 Emerisque owns MCS Italia (former Marlboro Classics), and has previously acquired Lee Cooper, Hickey Freeman, Hart Schaffner Marx, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Exclusively Misook, Christopher Blue, Palm Beach, Sansabelt and Monarchy.
